A comedy night in Cleveland, booked from 30,000 feet.

The ask

I was on a flight to Cleveland and had a free evening ahead of me, with no plans. So I asked Muse whether there was a comedy show I could catch while I was in town.

What Muse did

It didn’t just hand me a list of venues. It found a show at Hilarities in Cleveland with Nick Swardson, one of my favorite comedians. It suggested a time that worked for my trip, and then it booked the tickets for me.

I went from “I wonder if there’s anything on” to having tickets in hand before the plane landed.

Why it worked

• I asked for an outcome, not information. “Can I see a comedy show?” is a different request from “list comedy clubs in Cleveland.”
• It handled the whole chain. Searching, picking a time and booking all happened in one conversation.
• It matched my taste. The show it found was someone I would have picked myself.
